The JSC is Born

When the Iron Curtain fell in 1991, Ministry to Israel became heavily involved helping to bring Jewish families to Israel from the FSU. Our first emotions were that of deep contentment, knowing that this was the hand of God fulfilling prophecy before our very eyes. It became apparent, however, that the absorption process for these newly arriving immigrants was sometimes overwhelming and even heart breaking. Many arriving at the Ben Gurion Airport came with great expectations, only to be dashed against the rocks of reality. Some, not able to cope with the hardships of daily life in Israel where they did not know the language, culture, customs, eventually turned their eyes back to Mother Russia. In 1997 the leadership of Ministry to Israel came to the realization that it was just not enough to help them home, they needed assistance once they got here. After much prayer for direction, the Jerusalem Support Center was established.
Since the establishment of the JSC, we have been able to open other Centers across the country in Haifa, Afula and Beer Sheba

The Purpose of the Support Centers

The primary commitment of the Support Centers is to help new Jewish immigrants who have been in the country for less than 10 years. The qualified staff of our Support Centers is Russian, Hebrew, Spanish and English speaking and have assisted tens of thousands of Jews to start a new life in the Promised Land. Not only does the Support Centers staff help in benevolent ways, the staff also provides an inviting atmosphere where people feel respected and cared for from the moment they walk through the door.

What the Israel Support Centers Provide for New Immigrants:

Expansion of Support Centers Across the Country

Thru the years the JSC helped thousands of people across the country. Many people find it very difficult to travel to Jerusalem in order to get help. Few years ago JSC started to expand to different cities across the Land. Today there are support centers in Haifa, Afula and Beer Sheva, which do the same work as JSC, helping new immigrants, lone soldiers, holocaust survivors. There are distribution centers in these cities and people can come and get clothes from the containers which MTI brings to the country and many other types of help.
