On October 16, Lera’s husband, Elkhanan, passed away, leaving her by herself to care for their three children.
Elkhanan was the sole source of income for the family; without him, the family quickly started experiencing financial difficulties. Lera and her children were forced to move since they couldn’t afford the rent, and Lera could not find a job since she couldn’t afford a kindergarten for her children because of the war situation in Israel. In this never-ending cycle, the family’s situation only deteriorated. Not knowing what else she could do on her own, Lera decided to turn to MTI for the sake of her children. Lera received from our staff a check as well as school necessities for her oldest son. she will also continue to get monetary support every month for the next half year. Lera and her kids are incredibly grateful for the help!
