On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, our volunteers gathered with Holocaust survivors in Rishon Lezion. During the gathering, our volunteers got to talk and laugh together with the survivors over food and beverages and thoroughly enjoy each other’s company. During that visit, seven people celebrated their jubilee, and they were given various gifts and presents, as well as heartfelt congratulations. At times like these, company and a sense of “togetherness” are crucial, and of course, neither we nor the survivors can ignore Israel’s current situation. We prayed together for peace and hoped that the IDF soldiers would be kept out of harm’s way. As the visit to the Holocaust survivors came to a close, our volunteers began distributing food baskets and presents. We are thankful for the opportunity to provide people with support and a listening ear after they went through so much stuff, whether it be then or the circumstances that have befallen Israel now.
