There’s something very spiritual going on in our world. In recent times nations, denominations and even individuals are being challenged to make a decision regarding Israel’s place as God’s chosen people. Shockingly, some prominent long-time supporters of Israel in the Evangelical ranks have now reversed their pro-Israel position? More recently, denominations like the Presbyterians and the 7 million strong Church of God have both been challenged to vote on a resolution at their conventions as to their stance, for or against Israel. The Presbyterians emphatically declared their opposition to the nation of Israel while the Church of God, opted unwittingly to make “no decision” for the next two years. In my opinion, a “no decision,” at this crucial time in Israel’s history, IS a decision.

Consider this: in the coming two years, because of indecision on the part of the nations, especially the US, Iran could be nuclear! Imagine, a terrorist state that hates Israel and the West possessing nuclear weapons and rockets powerful enough to strike both. Unbelievable? Never happen, you say? Guess again… this isn’t your grandfather’s world. Right now, the harshest Islamic group ever controls large portions of Syria and Iraq and is on the move. A brutal, butchering, raping, killing machine (not unlike Hamas) has been unleashed in the Middle East; Non-Muslim groups and especially Christians are being massacred in its wake. A harbinger of things to come?

Hatred for Israel is rising at a rapid rate, nations are boycotting, and people are filling the streets to protest Israel in England, Norway, South Africa and even the United States. Pro-Palestinians are entering grocery stores and pulling Israeli products off the shelves with no one stopping them! And now the Church is being challenged to make a decision! Some already have.

Israel is fighting for its life! From a natural viewpoint this tiny nation cannot possibly survive the tsunami of hatred and lies crashing on its shores; at least, that is the perspective of many observing the current trend of events. But there is a crystal clear voice superseding all others; the voice of the God of Israel that is emphatic…

GOD HAS NOT AND NEVER WILL REJECT HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL:

“Proclaim, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped— but with evil intent. Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, and a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem. Again proclaim, saying, thus says the Lord of hosts: “My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; the Lord will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.” Zechariah 1 (not just the Babylonian return of less than 50,000)

“Then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and take you back in love. HE WILL BRING YOU TOGETHER AGAIN FROM ALL THE PEOPLES WHERE THE LORD YOUR GOD HAS SCATTERED YOU. Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the LORD your God will gather you, from there He will fetch you. And the LORD your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers”    Deuteronomy 29

Thus says the Lord: “The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness— ISRAEL (not the Church), when I went to give him rest.” The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you. Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel.” …

“Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and the one who labors with child, together; a great throng shall return there.”

Jeremiah 30 (This is NOT the Church replacing Israel coming from the North as some would teach)

In 1948 there were only 750,000 Jews in Israel… Today, around 7 million; with the rise of anti-Semitism more will come… God is fulfilling these promises and bringing them home!

Finally God says:

“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and tell it in the isles afar. Say: He who scattered Israel will gather them, and will guard them as a shepherd his flock”

(Jeremiah 31:10)

Frankly, I don’t see an angry God here. It is more of a presentation of truth and a beckoning and an admonition to be careful when touching Israel, “For he who touches you touches the Apple of His eye.”
